In 2001 Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer agreed to provide the funds needed to create an IT Training Room in the Bodleian Law Library. This included the provision of 27 computers, furniture and chairs, and a data screen projector.
Once the Freshfields IT Training Room was built, Freshfields agreed to fund staff positions so that we could develop our Legal Research and Mooting Skills Programme for first year undergraduates. This programme is a compulsory subject, part of the first year course for all students, and the online tutorials and teaching materials have been developed by the two staff who are partially funded by Freshfields.
The funding has also enabled the employment of an IT support technician, and a web coordinator, allowing the Bodleian Law Library to provide high quality IT services to its students, researchers and faculty
