Students at other universities applying for a Bodleian Reader card

Non-University of Oxford students applying for or renewing their Bodleian Reader cards. Please note that the application process is always the same, whether you are applying for the first time or renewing your Bodleian Reader card.

If you are a University of Oxford student, you automatically get access to the Bodleian Libraries with your University card.

If you are a student of a summer school, study abroad or tutorial college programme in Oxford, please contact your course coordinator to organise access on your behalf.

Applications from students at UK universities. The University of Oxford is not currently a member of the SCONUL Access Scheme. However, for the duration of their studies (maximum 4 years at a time), we offer free, reference-only access throughout the year to research postgraduate students at UK public universities or institutions that are members of SCONUL. We also offer access during vacations only to undergraduate and taught postgraduate students at those institutions.
