Saïd Business School members have borrowing rights at the Sainsbury Library and across all the Bodleian Libraries. What you may borrow and for how long, will vary depending on the library concerned.
Anyone with a blue-topped University Card who is not a Saïd Business School member may borrow books from the Sainsbury Library's Stack and Annexe collections but not high demand Lower, Desk or SBS Careers items. Visitors with other kinds of Bodleian Card will have reference-only access to the library.
The first time you use the Sainsbury Library at Park End Street, please visit the desk to register your card. After this, you will be able to borrow books using the self-issue machine in the Lower Library.
How many items can I borrow (and for how long)?
Non-members of the Saïd Business School can borrow items from our Stack or Annexe collections which will be indicated when searching on SOLO.
A maximum of 10 books can borrowed which can be renewed remotely seven times.
Items that are in our Lower or Careers collections can be consulted within the library when available.
Fines are charged on any book(s) that you keep past their due date. We will send you a notice the day before a book is due back, but please note that this is a courtesy only, and failure to receive or read these fine warnings will not be deemed sufficient reason to waive any penalty. It is important therefore that you make sure you know when your books are due to be returned.
Through the SOLO catalogue, you can check your loans at any time, including their due date, and – if no holds have been placed on your books by another reader – you will be able to renew your loans online.
|Annexe & Stack||20p per book per day|
|Lower||£1 per book per day|
|Careers||£1 per book per day|
|Desk||50p per book per hour (after 10am)|
Fines that exceed £10 result in the loss of borrowing privileges until paid – this applies equally across all the Bodleian Libraries.
Please note, that fines you owe to a Bodleian Library can be paid at any Bodleian lending library, no matter what library the fine is associated with. See the Bodleian website for a list of libraries. Lost book charges for books from the Sainsbury Library can be paid only in the Sainsbury Library.
