Scan and Deliver

We are currently unable to provide scans from items held by the KB Chen China Centre Library. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

 

Scan and Deliver is an electronic document delivery service: it allows you to receive scans by email of book chapters or journal articles.

Using this service

We normally fulfill requests within 7 working days (Monday–Friday). This excludes weekends and any University holidays.

University card holders can order from all eligible collections. Bodleian Reader card holders can order from Bodleian Offsite Storage collections.

The service is free.

 

  1. Charges: no charge 
  2. Collections: Bodleian Libraries printed collections
  3. Scans provided: up to one chapter or article from a book or journal issue
  4. Format: 300dpi PDF
  5. Max number of scans per job: 50
  6. Max number of requests per person: 2 active requests at any one time
  7. Patrons:
    1. Bodleian Offsite Storage all card holders
    2. Open shelf collections: University members only
  8. Turnaround time: 7 working days

Place a request

You can place a Scan and Deliver request through SOLO.

  1. Log in using your Oxford Single Sign On (SSO) or non-Oxford Member (Bodleian Reader) login
  2. Locate the relevant item record
  3. In the ‘Find and Request’ section of the record select ‘Scan & Deliver’.

You can place up to two Scan and Deliver requests at any one time.

You may only request up to one chapter or article from a book or journal issue. These limits are governed by copyright legislation, and you must agree to a copyright declaration when making your request. Find out more about copyright restrictions.

Your Scan and Deliver request is for individual research use only, and may not be shared, distributed or posted elsewhere online.

If necessary, we may contact you to request clarification of your requirements. We will notify you if we are unable to fulfil your request.

Receive your request

Once your request has been completed, you will receive an email with the attachment.

Issues and feedback

If there are any problems with the material you have received, please contact us and a replacement order will be arranged.

Feedback is welcomed, as this helps us to improve our services and troubleshoot any technical issues.
