Services for academics at the Taylor Institution Library

Taylor Institution Library: Roof repairs project

An essential roof repairs project requiring full scaffolding over the building is underway at the Taylorian, and will continue until the end of August. The library will remain open throughout the work, but alternative study spaces are also available at the Art Library and Nizami Ganjavi Library (3–4 minute walk). Please contact humslibs-admin@bodleian.ox.ac.uk if you have any queries.

Periodicals & Reference Room closure

Due to water ingress the Periodicals & Reference Room in the Taylorian is closed until further notice. Please ask staff at the enquiry desk if you need a book or journal from the room and we will do our best to retrieve it for you. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Reading lists and book recommendations

The Taylor Institution Library has subject librarians for individual languages, linguistics and women's studies. Subject librarians are keen to hear from academic staff on all matters relating to the library provision for their subject area.

Reading lists for taught courses should be sent to the relevant subject librarian. To recommend that the library purchases a book, journal, film or electronic resource, either use the Bodleian Libraries online form or contact the relevant subject librarian directly.

Research and information skills training

Members of academic staff who would like an introduction or refresher session to the library and its resources are very welcome to contact their subject librarian.

The library's subject librarians are also happy to arrange one-to-one sessions with academic staff to help with, for example, complex research enquiries, using online resources, reference management and so on. We can also arrange tailored sessions for your students.
