Bibliography of the Hebrew book
The Jewish worldcat, as it were, as in spite of its name, this is a bibliography of not just Hebrew boooks, but an attempt to collate in one single database the bibliographic information of ALL Jewish books in all Jewish languages from the invention of print (ca. 1460) to 1960. As of late 2019, it contains 115,000 bibliographic records and more than 15,000 biographies.

Israel Union list
For Hebrew-language searching, the Israeli Union catalogue may yield better results than worldcat. There is also a separate catalogue for periodicals: Israel Union list of serials (ULS).

Major reference work for everything Judaism and Jewish Studies related.

Encyclopedia of Jewish Women
Finding that only a shocking 3% of words in the EJ were devoted to women, Moshe Shalvi compiled this encyclopaedia of Jewish women as a corrective. It is now online for free, with a new, updated version expected in late 2020.

YIVO Encyclopedia of Jews in Eastern Europe
The complete text of the 2008 print edition is now online for free on this visually appealing website. A wide ranging exploration of Jewish life in Eastern Europe, written by leading scholars.

Modern Hebrew literature: a bio-bibliographical lexicon
A massive achievement, compiled by Yossi Galron-Goldschläger. As of August 2019 it contains more than 3,400 entries for Hebrew language authors. For each author you find a short biography, a bibliography of their works, translations of their works and works written about them.

JewishGen
There are in excess of 30 million records in this free database. Unique resources include (partly) translated Yizkor books and a huge community to share findings and enquiries with. See also below for the full-text original language Yizkor books available on the internet and our own holdings.

Digitized Hebrew manuscripts catalogue
Largest catalogue of freely available digitised manuscripts with links to full texts, maintained by the National Library of Israel. It contains all the relevant titles of Digital scriptorium, the Catalogue of digitized medieval manuscripts and more. As of 2019 there are more than 4000 linked records.

As part of our collection of Montefioriana, the Muller Library owns the entire superb set of Montefiore manuscripts on microfilm.

Jewish Press
Now officially known by the easy to remember name 'Union list of digitized Jewish historic newspapers, periodicals and e-journals', this is an amazing resource. It brings together on one page an alphabetic list of all periodicals that are available in full-text, some free, some not. It combines all titles from Compact memory, the Hathi Trust, JSTOR, Jpress and many other providers, all linked right through to the individual periodical.

Global Jewish Database
Known for a long time as the Bar Ilan Responsa Project, this web-based resource contains a vast amount of traditional Jewish religious books in full text ("seforim"). It is by subscription only, so if you sit at home or use your laptop, you need to have a VPN connection to Oxford University resources.

Hebrewbooks.org
Although similar to the Global Jewish database, the two resources often complement each other. The advantage of Hebrew Books.org is that it is non-commercial, and all 50,000+ titles can be downloaded for free.

Digital Yiddish library
More than 11,000 complete Yiddish books are now available to view and download for free. This wonderful resource is a child of the Yiddish Book Center. Also worth checking out are there audio book collection and their oral histories.

Jiddische Drucke
This page contains the digitised holdings of the most valuable Yiddish prints held by the  Frankfurt on the Main library, which was once the most important Judaica library in Europe. Worth exploring!
