Print, Copy and Scan (PCAS)

Bodleian Libraries Print, Copy and Scan (PCAS) facilities are available in this library. Our PCAS-enabled printers are located at the top of the stairs in the Gallery, and you can print from workstations throughout the library or from your own device. Connect to library Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi networks are available in Bodleian Libraries for University, Bodleian Reader and library card holders. Find out more about how to connect to the internet in the library.

If you are a visitor to the department, you may be eligible for visitor Wi-Fi access. Ask your course administrator or at reception. The library is unable to help with visitor accounts.


 

 

Use library computers

The main library has 2 reader PCs that can be logged onto and used for work, and 4 ‘Quick Search’ PCs for searching SOLO. Learn more about how to log into and use Bodleian Libraries computers.


 

 

Book the EFL Computer Room

The EFL Computer Room has 28 PCs available to readers and one PC at the front of the room for teaching purposes, connected to a data projector. One desk is height-adjustable to accommodate readers using wheelchairs. Senior English Faculty members are welcome to use this room for teaching purposes. Please contact the library directly to enquire about availability. The weekly timetable gives details of any room bookings.


 

 

Request and reserve items

You can request or reserve (‘place a hold’) on items held in the Bodleian Libraries closed stacks (off-site store) and have them delivered to the EFL. Find out more about how to make requests through SOLO.


 

 

Information skills training

The EFL provides information skills training to support teaching and research in English at Oxford. All sessions are open to University staff and students.


 

One-to-one sessions with the English Subject Librarian

For complex or research enquiries, individuals can book a one-to-one session with the English Subject Librarian. Sessions can be used to discuss and solve library-related problems, explore printed and e-resources and library services, and improve information searching skills, etc. To arrange a one-to-one session, email the English Subject Librarian.


 

 

Film viewing facilities

There are viewing facilities available (TV, video and DVD players) in the library’s Computer Room. Please ask a member of library staff for details.

Portable DVD players are available for loan from the issue desk. Please ask staff for more information.
