Loan return period
Standard loan periods are now in operation across all our libraries. Please check individual libraries for details.
Return to a library
If you have borrowed an item from a library that is open, please return it to that library. You do not need a booking to return items.
Please note, our temporary return hub service has now closed.
Royal Mail Tracking
If you are unable to visit Oxford but are based in the UK, you can send books to us using the Royal Mail Tracked service.
Follow the instructions to print off a package label at home or to use a QR code, sent by email, to print the label at the Royal Mail post office.
Package the books following Royal Mail's guidance.
Take the package with label or QR code attached to your nearest Post Office and they will complete the rest of the sending process.
The postal service is free, but you will need to pay for your own packaging.
This service is only available to current University of Oxford staff and students, or students who completed their University of Oxford degree in 2020.
If you have returned your items to a temporary hub or by post, it will take some time for them to be fully processed and they will remain on your library record during this time.
If you are unable to return the books to Oxford yourself or take them to a Post Office, or you are outside the UK, please email email@example.com for further instructions.
