The Radcliffe Science Library has won an Oxford Preservation Trust Environmental Award for the new glazed link between its two buildings.
These awards recognise projects which make a significant contribution to the conservation or improvement of the built and natural environment of Oxford and its setting. The citation commends the ‘imaginative introduction of new materials’ and ‘pleasing views of the sky and the original Jackson gable’.
The award was made on 6 October 2009 to the University of Oxford, Pringle Richards Sharratt Architects, and Beard Construction. Bob Wyatt for the RSL received the certificate along with representatives from the architects, builders and OUED, at a ceremony held in the Newman Rooms, Rose Lane.
