Opening hours
Upper and Lower Reading Rooms
Monday – Friday: 9am – 9pm
Saturday: 10am – 4pm
Sunday: 11am – 5pm
Duke Humfrey's Library
Monday – Friday: 9am – 5pm
Early closure: 24 October
On Friday 24 October Duke Humfrey’s Library will be closing early at 3pm due to a library event.
Christmas opening hours
Tuesday 23 December: 9am – 5pm
The Old Library will be closed from Wednesday 24 December — Thursday 1 January (inclusive). The library will open as usual (9am—9pm) on Friday 2 January.

About the library
The Bodleian Old Library is one of the oldest libraries in Europe. Part of the larger Bodleian Library complex, it is connected to the Radcliffe Camera by the underground Gladstone Link. It has three historic reading rooms: the Lower Reading Room, the Upper Reading Room and Duke Humfrey’s Library.
