The Libraries would like to congratulate our Associate Director for Digital Libraries and Information Technologies, Wolfram Horstmann, on his appointment as Director of the Göttingen State and University Library.
Wolfram joined the Bodleian Libraries as Associate Director for Digital Library Programmes and Information Technologies in 2012. In consultation with all relevant parts of the Libraries, he has made significant strides in developing and implementing a digital strategy for the Bodleian Libraries.
Prior to his time in Oxford, Wolfram was Chief Information Officer for Scholarly Information at Bielefeld University, where he was responsible for strategic development of the institutional services for content, data and tools in research and education between 2007 and 2011. He has also served as European project manager for the State and University Library of Göttingen and as head of Publishing Services at the Academic Library Centre in Cologne. He is a biologist by training, having worked in the field of computational neuroscience before he actively turned his attention towards scholarly communication and libraries.
We are naturally very sad to say farewell to Wolfram, who has served with great distinction as Associate Director for Digital Libraries and Information Technologies, but delighted that his skills and experience have been recognised by his appointment as the Director of one of Germany’s most prestigious libraries.
