Overview

The Radcliffe Camera holds the Bodleian Library teaching collections for History and English and a collection of Film Studies material. The Po Chung Personal Development Collection is a small collection of material donated to the Bodleian Library specifically as a lending collection. This material can be borrowed by University members through the staff desk in Lower Camera Reading Room.

Learn more about our History and English and Film Studies collections, or browse our subject guides for help with finding resources for your subject.

All collections held in the Radcliffe Camera are listed on SOLO, Oxford University's library catalogue. SOLO clearly indicates where items are held within the library.

If you would like to recommend a resource for purchase, please complete the Bodleian Libraries online recommendation form.

If you wish to discuss the purchase of a new e-resource for History, please contact the Bodleian History Librarian in the first instance. You can view the History e-resources that are under consideration or being trialled, and leave feedback.

In general, donations are very welcome, and we are grateful for the generosity of our readers. The Bodleian Libraries frequently receive gifts of scholarly history books from faculty and college teaching staff.

If you consider your donation of individual books to be appropriate for the History Faculty Library collection, then please contact the Bodleian History Librarian or HFL Librarian-in-Charge. If you consider your donation of individual books to be more appropriate for the Bodleian Library, then email the Bodleian History Librarian directly.

The libraries reserve the right to dispose of donated books, should they no longer be required. We will normally ask whether you would like us to return and/or try to find alternative locations for surplus materials. Large donations will not be taken without prior consultation.
