Readers with a Bodleian or University card
Bodleian History Faculty Library lending books may be borrowed by current students and staff of Oxford University including visiting fellows and visiting students of Oxford University. Before borrowing for the first time registration with Bodleian History Faculty Library is required (please note undergraduate historians are pre-registered).
Other Bodleian card holders are able to consult Bodleian History Faculty Library books on-site but are not eligible for borrowing.
Registration of new readers at the Lower Camera Reserve Desk is possible:
- Monday to Friday 9am to 7pm
- Saturday 12.30 to 4pm (during term time)
All readers must bring their Oxford University or Bodleian card with them, as this will be required to enter Bodleian Library buildings.
Readers without a Bodleian or University card
People wishing to use the library who do not have a university card or a Bodleian Reader card who would like to use the Bodleian History Faculty Library or any of the other Bodleian Libraries need to apply for a Bodleian Reader card from the Bodleian Libraries Admissions Office.
