Latest service changes
Space Finder tool launches
The new Space Finder tool makes it easier to find and book available spaces across the Bodleian Libraries or choose to Browse & Borrow - a service which enables you to access the collections and borrow items when a desk is not required. Find out more about Space Finder in our reader notice.
Most of the library buildings and reading rooms have now reopened to staff, students and Bodleian Reader Card holders. You can book slots to use a library desk or book time to browse open shelf collections. Alternatively request an item to collect from a library.
Closed stack deliveries
Closed stack deliveries from the Book Storage Facility (BSF) have resumed for most libraries. To make use of this resource, check SOLO for availability in your chosen library, ensuring you have booked a seat in the reading room beforehand.
You can still make use of library resources remotely even if you can't visit a library in person.
Returns of loans
If you are in Oxford, items should be returned to the library from which they were borrowed or via a temporary loan return hub.
If you are not in Oxford, you can send items to us using the Royal Mail Tracked service or contact us if you are based internationally.
Fines for overdue books are currently suspended, we will inform readers when they are reinstated.
