Resources may include data from subscription databases, publicly available data portals or archived academic projects. Some suggestions are:

Agricultural science and technology indicators
Open-access data and analysis on agricultural research investment and capacity in low- and middle-income countries.

Benefits and Costs of Knowledge and Technology Transfer: a Panel Data Analysis, 1985-2007: Longitudinal Study of Engineering in the UK  
Aimed to create a dataset that would enable researchers to document and analyse quantitatively the evolution of research output, knowledge and technology transfer measures in the UK. In particular the researchers planned to measure the dynamic impact of industry collaboration on individual academic research output.

Essential Science Indicators (ESI)
A database of performance statistics and trends in science providing citation rankings for scientists, institutions, countries, journals and papers. It uses citation data from Thomson Scientific-indexed journals (Web of Science). Types of data include highly cited papers, hot papers, most cited scientist rankings, institutional (university, corporate, government research lab) rankings, national rankings, and journal rankings.

EUROSTAT: science, technology, digital society

Science, technology and innovation
European Union statistics in the fields of science, technology and innovation cover a range of issues, most notably: research and development (R & D) statistics, innovation statistics and statistics on human resources in science and technology.

Digital economy and society
The statistics in this section track two aspects of the production and usage of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT): production of digital technologies and uptake and usage of digital technologies by businesses and individuals.

Global Ethics Observatory (GEObs)
The observatory is a system of databases with worldwide coverage in bioethics and other areas of applied ethics in science and technology such as environmental ethics, science ethics, and technology ethics.

GOV.UK statistics

International Federation of Robotics (IFR)
Bodleian Libraries readers can access data on robotics, provided by the IFR statistical department online via World Robotics publications.

ONS Statistics

  • Business innovation: research and development in the UK carried out or funded by business enterprises, higher education, government (including research councils) and private non-profit organisations.

  • IT and Internet Industry: internet sales by businesses in the UK (total value and as a percentage of all retail sales) and the percentage of businesses that have a website and broadband connection.

Population Exposure Estimates in Proximity to Nuclear Power Plants, Locations
Provides a global data set of point locations and attributes describing nuclear power plants and reactors.

The world bank data: Science & technology
Data here aims to show countries technology base: research and development, scientific and technical journal articles, high-technology exports, royalty and license fees, and patents and trademarks. Sources include the UNESCO Institute for Statistics, the U.S. National Science Board, the UN Statistics Division, the International Monetary Fund, and the World Intellectual Property Organization.
