Catríona Cannon appointed Librarian at the University of London's Senate House Library

It is with a mixture of sorrow and pleasure that we announce that Catríona Cannon, Deputy Librarian and Head of Academic Library Services at the Bodleian Libraries, has been appointed Librarian at the University of London's Senate House Library (SHL), and will leave the Bodleian Libraries at the end of May this year. It is with much pleasure that we will see her take on this important leadership role, in one of the country's great libraries. As well as her role as SHL Librarian, Catríona will also be Director of the Library Transformation Programme, part of University of London's wider Strategy 2020–2025.

We have been very fortunate to have had Catríona as Deputy Librarian since 2014, and before then as Associate Director for Collections Management from 2010 (when she joined us from King's College London). She has made a huge contribution to the work of the Libraries – and to the University as a whole – ranging from collections, to public engagement, to key academic services, as well as contributing to Oxford's newest college, Reuben College. While we will be very sorry to see Catríona leave the Bodleian, it is wonderful to think that Senate House Library will benefit from her many talents.
