Opening Hours

Note that opening hours may sometimes change at short notice. If travelling to visit a library you are advised to check with the library to confirm details.

Term time:

Weeks 0 to 8 inclusive: Mon - Fri: 9:00am - 7:00pm Sat: 9:00am - 1:00pm. Week 9: Mon-Fri 9:00am - 7:00pm

Vacation:

Mon - Fri: 9:00am - 5:00pm

Closed:

Easter 2016: 25 April – 28 April inclusive. Christmas 2016-2017: 24 December – 3 January inclusive.

Notes:

Members of the College may access the Lower Library and Basement (but not the Upper Library) with their swipe cards 24 hours a day except during closed periods. External readers, including members of other colleges, must make an appointment before visiting.

Subjects Covered

The lending collection of around 50,000 books covers most subjects taught within College. The Library is especially strong in Modern History, Classics and Modern Languages. The rare book collection of 100,000 volumes has an emphasis on Classics, Theology, History of Science and Local History making the Library one of the most diverse in Oxford.
