The Bodleian Libraries can help you to develop your information skills so that you make the most of Library collections and other information in your research and learning.

Classes and workshops - WISER workshops (Workshops in Information Skills and Electronic Resources) run during term time and are aimed at postgraduates, academic and research staff and librarians. They are open to all members of the University and  to Bodleian Library readers. Topics covered include:

  • Finding  published & unpublished information in print & online.
  • Evaluating the quality of information
  • Managing information using reference management and other tools
  • Copyright, plagiarism & information ethics
  • Measuring the impact of research through citation analysis and bibliometrics
  • Keeping up to date with the most recent publications in your research area

Subject specific workshops - Many subject librarians run classes which are tailored to the needs of students and researchers in their discpline.   Contact your subject librarian to find out about opportunities in your subject.
