The Tylor Library

The Tylor Library is housed within the Institute for Social and Cultural Anthropology at 51 Banbury Rd. In addition to books and journals it provides online access to the university’s electronic resources, including several useful databases for anthropologists.

The Tylor Library houses over 20,000 books, about 35 current print periodicals, and 12,000 pamphlets dealing with social anthropology and related fields such as sociology, history and linguistics.

Your attention is also drawn to the Balfour Library at the Pitt Rivers Museum, which has complementary holdings in areas such as material culture. There are also many other libraries useful for anthropologists within the Bodelian.
