Railing refurbishment: Bodleian Library

26 February 2009

Essential maintenance and repairs are being undertaken to the gates, railings and associated masonry adjacent to the Clarendon Building and Old Bodleian Library, fronting Catte Street and Broad Street.

Works will include the repair and redecoration of the existing perimeter iron railings and gates, which will require some o! site conservation, together with on site masonry repairs to the piers and dwarf walls.

The work is to be undertaken in phases, beginning in February 2009 and completing in late summer 2009. All adjacent buildings, including the library, will remain open to readers and visitors as usual during the works.
