'The Winter's Tale' at the Bodleian Library

23 July 2008

During the week of Sunday 17 – Friday 22 August 2008 the Bodleian Library is delighted to host in association with Oxford Playhouse a Shakespeare’s Globe on Tour production of The Winter’s Tale in the Old Schools Quadrangle.

Whilst disruption to readers will be kept to a minimum as the performances take place outside Library opening hours, there may be a larger number of visitors than usual in the Quadrangle and Proscholium towards the end of each week day (no performance Monday) associated with the production and set up. The Library is also hosting a series of pre-show talks given by members of the University’s English Faculty in Convocation House. Audience seating will be retained in the Quadrangle throughout the week but there will be ample space for readers to access the Library.  The North Arch will be closed off but all other entrances may be used as normal.
