The Bodley's Medal is the Libraries' highest honour and is awarded to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the worlds in which the Bodleian is active: literature, culture, science, and communication. Past recipients include novelist Hilary Mantel, poet Seamus Heaney, director Lord Richard Attenborough and inventor of the world wide web Sir Tim Berners-Lee.
