New Library Management System for Oxford libraries

20 June 2007

The go-live date of the new Library Management System for the Oxford University Libraries has been rescheduled so that further rigorous testing of the software and staff training can be carried out.

The libraries agreed in Spring 2005 to adopt a new system produced by VTLS Systems Inc (www.vtls.com). Since then a complex process of discussion, software development, hardware installation and training has been under way.  In order to allow sufficient time to complete this to the highest standards, a new go-live date will be announced once training has been completed on the delivered system.

The Oxford University Library Services will ensure that readers are kept informed of developments that will affect them.
