Library Services to Primary Care – Changes

From the 1st of April 2011 the Bodleian Health Care Libraries will no longer be funded to provide services to the majority of NHS staff working in Primary Care in Oxfordshire.

From April 1st the library service of Oxford Health will be funded to deliver library services to all NHS staff working in Primary Careacross Oxfordshire, including GPs and their staff and dentists and their staff. For 2011/2012 South Central Strategic Health Authority has purchased a limited number of memberships of the Bodleian Health Care Libraries for staff of the Oxford Deanery, GPs and dentists working in Oxfordshire and for staff employed by Oxfordshire GPs and dentists. If you would like to apply for one of these memberships please contact Helen Bingham, Learning Resources Manager Workforce, Education and Leadership South Central SHA – Helen.Bingham@nesc.nhs.uk

 

These memberships include access and borrowing rights at the Cairns Library and the Bodleian Knowledge Centre but not access to literature searching services or to training. However, in-depth literature searching searches and training will be available for primary care staff from Amanda Closier the Primary Care Outreach Librarian who is based at the Bodleian Knowledge Centre. These services are also available from April 1st 2011 from Richard Comley the Outreach Librarian who is based in the library service at Oxford Health.
