We’re looking at options for a further refurbishment of the Cairns Library which may be taking place over the summer of 2016. The aims are to improve the facilities that we offer library users and to free up space for use by other parts of the Medical Sciences Division. Any savings on space charges that are generated will go towards subscriptions to online journals.
What we’ll be able to do will depend on what funding is available but may include: better quiet study facilities such as a large and enclosed quiet study room (with glass walls); extra power sockets (we do very much appreciate that is greatly in demand); improved group study and training facilities; display spaces for artwork and research posters that reflect work going on in the MSD and the OUH.
Please take a look (and please do encourage your colleagues to take a look) at the two very rough draft possible options below (plans will be up from the end of next week) and let us have your thoughts/comments/suggestions via email@example.com.
