Preclinical Medicine Students

The main collections and staff serving the needs of the preclinical departments within the Medical Sciences Division (in the main those parts of the MSD in the city centre) are based within the Radcliffe Science Library.

For more information please contact Juliet Ralph the, Life Sciences and Medicine Librarian, at the Radcliffe Science Library or take a look at the main Science at Oxford portal.

Radcliffe Science Library

The Radcliffe Science Library houses an extensive research collection in Life Sciences and Medicine from the 19th Century onwards, including legal deposit and purchased material of both historical and contemporary interest. It collects the legal deposit material in clinical medicine, and legal deposit and purchased material in non-clinical subjects such as Experimental Psychology, Human Anatomy and Genetics, Physiology, Pathology, and Pharmacology.

Since 2007 the RSL has absorbed the collections of the Hooke, Geography and Experimental Psychology libraries to become a combined lending and reference library. Books and journals supporting teaching and research can be found in the reading rooms. Older and less-used material is kept in the Stack or Offsite, including scientific doctoral theses submitted for degrees at Oxford University. All stock is catalogued on OLIS and Stack material can be requested online for consultation in the libraries.
