Working papers

Working papers are written by academics in a wide range of countries are available in several collections.

These papers are often pre-prints, posted prior to final publication in a journal. They are often arranged by subject matter. The aim of these sites is to encourage contact between academics in related fields, and to provide an alerting service for researchers. The abstracts are available freely online, and in many cases, there is a link to the full text of the article. In other cases, you may need to contact the author to receive a copy of the paper. Information is available from the web sites.

The Social Science Research Network (SSRN) has been in existence since 1996, and has the largest archive of legal research working papers.

The Berkeley Electronic Press (BEPress) commenced more recently, but also has a wide range of papers.

Columbia International Affairs Online (CIAO) includes links to the working papers of a variety of institutions.

Jean Monnet Center at NYU School of Law, established to promote teaching in European integration, in particular Law, Economics, Political Science and History.

Oxford University Research Archive (ORA) is a recent multi-disciplinary research archive. See the Libguide on using ORA.

SAS-Space E-repository Institute of Advanced Legal Studies Community
Includes articles from Amicus Curiae 2003-2006.
