SOLO
SOLO is the library catalogue covering the majority of the Library collections of the University of Oxford including the Bodleian Libraries and most College and other libraries affiliated to the University.
Its search engine, SOLO, allows you to search across a number of different sources, currently Oxford's collections of books and journals (both printed and electronic), ORA (Oxford University Research Archive), the Bodleian Library Allegro Chinese and Allegro Japanese catalogues and title links to the 1,000+ databases on OxLIP+.
The classification scheme used in the Bodleian Law Library is explained on the classification page.
There is a general guide to using SOLO available online.
Alternatively, see our SOLO for lawyers podcast for help with searching.
Oxlip+
Oxlip+ links you to the full list of Oxford's online databases. In Oxlip+ you will find databases covering many different subjects and document types. For example: full text databases including treaties, legislation, case law, official papers, journal articles, commentary and more; indexing services (which will help you find journal articles by subject); and statistics and reference works. You can also search Oxford e-journals within Oxlip+.

Physical catalogues
The Abbreviations catalogue is a card catalogue of thousands of abbreviations of law reports, journals and other material for the jurisdictions of the British Isles and many other countries. It is located at the far right of the card catalogue in the drawers labelled in red. The catalogue entries interpret the abbreviations and cross-reference them to locations within the Library.
The abbreviations card catalogue is not kept up to date. For abbreviations not found in the card catalogue use the Cardiff Index to Legal Periodicals ,or ask a member of staff at the Enquiry Desk.
The EDC card catalogue near the EDC on the Lower Floor should still be used for items published before 1993. Items received since then (and some earlier items) have been added to Oxford's online catalogue.
The Names and Subject card catalogues have not been maintained since 1988 and all entries have been retrospectively converted to Oxford's online catalogue. The card catalogues will be withdrawn when post-conversion checking has been completed.
