Bodleian Old Library

Due to a power cut in central Oxford, the Old Library is closed for the rest of the day (Friday 14 August). It is expected to be open as usual on Saturday 15 August.
 

Opening hours

Upper and Lower Reading Rooms

Monday – Friday: 9am – 9pm
Saturday: 10am – 4pm
Sunday: 11am – 5pm

Duke Humfrey's Library

Monday – Friday: 9am – 5pm

Bank holiday closure

The Old Library will be closed from Saturday 29 August – Monday 31 August (inclusive).

About the library

The Bodleian Old Library is one of the oldest libraries in Europe. Part of the larger Bodleian Library complex, it is connected to the Radcliffe Camera by the underground Gladstone Link. It has three historic reading rooms: the Lower Reading Room, the Upper Reading Room and Duke Humfrey’s Library.
