Description

Oxford Preservation Trust and the University of Oxford organise the annual Oxford Open Doors event every September. There are various activities taking place for Open Doors at the Bodleian Libraries.

11am-3pm:  Exhibition mini tours focusing on the Oxfordshire maps in the gallery (starting on the hour). 

11am–4pm: Explore intriguing maps of Oxfordshire from Tudor times to the 20th century with a day of fun drop-in activities, including talks, walking tours from Uncomfortable Oxford, tapestry weaving, and redesigning Oxford for the 21st century.
BLACKWELL HALL, WESTON LIBRARY

11am–3pm: Discover the Bodleian’s historic presses and letterpress workshop. Visit the Oxford Preservation website for more information.
SCHOLA MUSICAE, OLD BODLEIAN LIBRARY

11am and 2pm: Two short talks from Nick Millea on the Cutteslowe Walls, Sheldon Tapestry Map and Sharp’s planning maps of Oxford.
