Shikshapatri is a sanskrit manuscript, written by Shree Swaminarayan, founder of Swaminarayan Hinduism, and outlines moral and spiritual codes for everyday life. These codes were to be read, heard or venerated daily. Shree Swaminarayan gave this copy to the Governor of Bombay, Sir John Malcolm, to promote understanding between cultures. To this day the book remains sacred, an object of veneration for 20 million followers of Swaminarayan.
The Shikshapatri will be on permanent display from June 2019.
