Description

Readings of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, 200 years after its first publication. Drop into the Weston Library, where there will also be a display of Mary Shelley's manuscript.

  • 12 noon – 1pm: Screening of film ‘Masterclass: Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein’ featuring Richard Ovenden, Bodley’s Librarian, and Miranda Seymour, biographer of Mary Shelley (Lecture Theatre, Weston Library)
  • 1 – 5pm: Oxford University English Faculty continuous reading of abridged version of Frankenstein (Treasury Gallery, Weston Library)
  • 1 – 5pm: Live streaming of an all-day Frankenstein reading at the Library of Congress in Washington, DC (Blackwell Hall, Weston Library)
