Associate Professor Mandana Barkeshli and Sadra Zekrgoo will discuss the materials used to create medieval Persian manuscripts. Introducing the ingredients used for dyeing paper and making ink from the study of historical recipes from the Timurid to the Qajar period (15th to 19th centuries), the lectures also explain how modern scientists are able to identify the materials used in the making of manuscripts.
