A day with Miss Austen

10 September 2017 11.00am 4.00pm

Rosie Sharkey - education@bodleian.ox.ac.uk

Step back in time to Regency Oxford to mingle with Jane Austen and her companions at the Bodleian Libraries.

Etiquette experts in their best breeches and empire-line ensembles will be on hand to share tips on dancing, love letters and the alluring uses of fan language. Short performances will weave a dramatic tapestry from Jane Austen's letters to her beloved sister, and her novel Pride and Prejudice. Itís not all about love - toys, games and music from Janeís childhood will also bring the past to life for all ages.

Donít miss the chance to explore the major exhibition, Which Jane Austen?, which reveals Austen as a risk-taking businesswoman and wartime writer with international connections.
