Slavonic Reading Room open

From Monday 11th July, the Slavonic Reading Room will be open to readers in what was the Taylor Institution’s  Room 3.

The reading room will remain open till the Taylor building and its library close for three weeks in August and early September so that building works and refurbishments can be undertaken.  For more information about the closure of the building, see: (opens in new window).

Furniture from TABS has been set out in the Slavonic Reading Room and high-use journals and reference works have been shelved there.  It is proposed that the reading room will be staffed when work schedules for the continuing TABS Relocation project allow.

During the week beginning 11th July, the reading room will appear on SOLO as a hold request location for Closed Stack items.  Borrowable Closed Stack books can be loaned at the Taylor Issue Desk.

During July it is likely that adjustments to the facilities in the reading room will be made – for example, the fitting of the TABS table lamps and desktop power points for laptops.

Currently, Eduroam and OWL wifi are available in the reading room.

We would welcome feedback on the Slavonic Reading Room – please email your comments and suggestions to the Taylor Operations Manager, Frank Egerton:
