Humanities Coding Club

Fridays 1pm-5pm, weeks 1-8

Graduate Group Study Room, Taylor Institution Library

This new club (launched Trinity Term 2019) is for anyone teaching themselves to code for Humanities research, or with expertise to share. Library staff will provide books and resources for self-guided learning for a range of different types of coding, from html and css, to R and Ruby. They will also compile a list of online resources, and collect reviews on them from participants.

Library staff with relevant expertise will be on hand to help until 2.30pm, but this will be very much a peer-support group.

It is hoped that others with expertise to share will drop in on the group too, and once the group is established, we will look to arrange speakers on topics of interest to members. The core hours of the club are 1pm - 2.30pm, but the room will be booked until 5pm, for anyone wanting to do a longer piece of work.
