Using the library

The Bodleian Social Science Library offers a broad range of services and facilities to support studying for research and taught courses.

During term time the SSL is open seven days a week. The Library has an extensive lending collection and bookstack materials may be requested to the SSL for reference use.  New research books and journal issues are displayed near the Issue Desk.

Over 400 study spaces are provided including two discussion rooms, an Information Skills Training room,  individual study carrels, graduate study rooms and a range of open plan seating.  Access to the network is available via the Bodleian Libraries wireless service or Ethernet connection. 

Online resources include almost 100,000 e-journals and an extensive collection of databases and archives in the social sciences. Library staff are available to help you make best use of library and information resources and services, so please do ask if you need assistance.

Please keep your belongings with you at all times. The Library operates a strict no food and drink policy (except for bottled water and drinks in KeepCups).
