18 March 2020
Following guidance from the UK Government and Public Health England, our libraries and reading rooms are now closed until further notice. The health, welfare and safety of readers and staff is our number one priority.
During this time the Bodleian Libraries are working hard to make it possible to keep the University reading. So while our physical services are suspended, we are continuing to provide, and are expanding, our digital services.
Students and scholars can take advantage of a wide range of online resources that can be accessed offsite. Readers can also get support and advice through our Live Chat and enquiries service at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are waiving fines on any books currently on loan and have extended their renewal period – they will be auto-renewed until 19 June 2020. We are considering other options to reintroduce lending on a limited basis, in the future. For Inter-Library Loans (ILL), electronic delivery will soon be available free of charge, even if physical ILL is suspended.
Please visit the Bodleian Libraries website and social media channels for regular updates.
