Literature Searches & Enquiries

We offer help and advice to support your work, research or teaching. You can ask anything from a simple question to in-depth help with a systematic review. We can help you in person in our libraries or in your place of work, over the phone, by email, or by Skype.

Outreach team

If your enquiry is more in-depth, you can get help from your outreach or subject librarian. They will help with enquiries and information skills training. They can also provide curriculum based teaching and induction sessions for staff and students.

Literature search service

The outreach team can also help you with your literature searching. If you are working on a report, business case, practice update, or guideline and are planning a literature review, please ask for help from your local outreach librarian. We can also give more advanced help with systematic reviews.

Impact factors

Looking for help and information on impact such as citation tracking, bibliometrics and altmetrics? Take a look at our help guide covering a range of 'impact factor' tools and concepts such as h-index, Altmetric, journal rankings, Journal Citation Reports, SCImago Web of Science, Scopus, Google Scholar, Essential Science Indicators, ORCID, and much more.

If you need help managing your references, we have a help guide which gives information on reference management software, where to find training workshops, reference styles, and more. We cover all the major reference management software tools such as EndNote, RefWorks, Zotero and Mendeley.

Open Access

The Bodleian Libraries, and partners across the University, provide comprehensive support for researchers in all aspects of open access publishing. Take a look at the Open Access Oxford webpage for more details.
