The Bodleian offers free information skills training sessions from beginner to advanced level delivered across Headington and in the city centre. A number of these are specific to Medicine but MSD staff and students can also sign up for any of our other sessions. We also offer individual help and advice sessions held in our libraries, where you are, or online.
Contact us to arrange small group or one-to-one training sessions in our libraries or at a location to suit you and tailored to suit your specific needs. Topics covered can include essential and advanced search skills, making the most of PubMed, finding online journals, reference management software, and open access publishing. Most sessions include hands-on practice.
Our timetabled programme is called Bodleian iSkills. These workshops focus on skills and resources which can be used across a wide range of disciplines with some sessions specific to Medicine.
Research Skills Toolkit.
The Bodleian Libraries and IT services also run the Research Skills Toolkit. These free two-hour workshops as specifically aimed at postgraduate students and introduce key software and online tools for your research and hone your searching and information skills.
