Borrowing at the Tylor Library

Who can borrow?

  • Members of the University may register to borrow from this library.
  • If eligible, students may borrow books for the periods set out below.
  • If you are not normally eligible, you may apply to the Librarian for special permission to borrow.  
  • Confined items, periodicals (bound or unbound), pamphlets and unpublished theses may not be borrowed. 

Borrowing allowances

Readers must self-issue books or have them issued by staff.

Undergraduates 5 7 days
Taught postgraduates 10 14 days
Research postgraduates and staff 20 28 days
Readers with disabilities 34 28 days

Renew and return items

You can renew your items online via SOLO or by contacting a member of staff.  

If you are returning books, please should give them to the Library Assistant or place them in the returns box. Books will remain your responsibility if they are not returned via one of these methods.
