The Bodleian Libraries offer wide-ranging support to help you develop your library skills.

Individual support

We can provide training tailored to your individual research needs in one-to-one sessions in person, by phone, email or live chat.

Appointments can be arranged on areas such as:

  • Library catalogue (SOLO) & advanced uses (contact the HFL
  • Locating source materials (contact the History Librarian)
  • Use of electronic resources & tools (contact the History Librarian)

Online support  

Online guides are available 24/7 which explain the services of the HFL as well as guides on e-resources and useful tools available to users. You may also view presentations of previous courses.

Our Ask an HFL Librarian service allows you to submit queries to us online and we also offer a live chat service whenever possible during working hours Monday to Friday.
