IT facilities

All Bodleian Health Care Libraries members have 24-hour access to a range of IT facilities for work or study use at the Cairns Library. The same facilities are available in the Knowledge Centre 9am-6pm, Monday-Friday.


Bodleian Libraries PCs are equipped with a range of software including Microsoft Office 2007 (Word, Excel, Access), Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Endnote, Nuance PDF Creator, GIMP, iTunes.

You can also use a variety of databases and the Internet via the University of Oxford network.

We also have OUHNet computers in the JR library (OUH intranet link).


Colour scanning, copying and printing are available.

Medical Students

IMSU supply and maintain a number of computers for medical students, which are housed within the JR Library.

Medical students can also borrow laptops between 9.30am and 4pm on Monday-Friday from the John Radcliffe and Churchill Libraries. Please contact us to enquire about this service.

Wireless Access

You are welcome to bring your own laptop computer into the Libraries where many desks are provided with power sockets and network connections.

All Bodleian Health Care Libraries members who have seven-digit barcode library cards have free Wi-Fi access in HCL libraries.
