Produces data from its own surveys on voting, public opinion, and political participation.

Climate Atlas of Canada
A combination of climate change science, mapping and storytelling in interactive maps, articles, and videos, covering the topics: cities; climate science; agriculture.

Data.gov
The site includes U.S. Government's open data, tools and resources to conduct research, develop web and mobile applications, design data visualisations.

Dave Leip's Atlas of U.S. Presidential Elections Data
Provides access to data aggregated at levels of geography (i.e., presidential elections results by Congressional District). Some aggregated data are free to use but the detailed data are by subscription only or can be can purchased as individual files.

Currently the library holds the US Representative General - County and Congressional District Level Vote 2004, 2006 and 2008 datasets, a selection of high-quality, very detailed election data sets, compiled from official sources relating to U.S. Representative General - County and Congressional District Level Votes for the elections of 2004, 2006 and 2008. These contains a breakdown of voting by State, County, Town and Congressional District. Graphs, statistics and candidate names are also included. The files include state, county, and town-level FIPS codes.

Use of detailed election datasets is restricted to members of the University. Access is via Weblearn - click on individual sets for access. Use the ‘Recommend a Resource’ form to request specific county data sets, explaining how the resource will be used.

Federal Government Data and Statistics
Many government agencies collect, analyse, and disseminate statistical data and information.

FRED (Federal Reserve Economic Data)
Offers US and international time series data from various sources.

General Social Survey (GSS)
A source of data to help monitor and explain trends in American behaviours, demographics, and opinions. You'll find the complete GSS data set on this site, and can access the GSS Data Explorer to explore, analyse, extract, and share custom sets of GSS data.

Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR)
A major archive of social science research data that holds information predominately relating to the United States. Holdings may be searched by various geographic categories: national, state, city etc. Data is available on a range of topics such as aging, criminal justice, education, substance abuse and terrorism.

National Center for Education Statistics: Education Data Analysis Tool (EDAT)
Allows you to download NCES survey datasets to your computer. Includes data from several longitudinal surveys on education topics.

National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI, Mexico): Data
Captures and disseminates statistical, geographic and economic data at a national and state level.

A New Nation Votes: American election returns 1787–1825
A searchable collection of election returns from the earliest years of American democracy.

Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)
Statistical and data profile on the United States covering topics such as agriculture, development, education, government and health.

Statistics Canada
Official source for Canadian social and economic statistics and products.

United States Census Bureau
Official pages of the US government which allows data to be accessed according to topics such as population, economy, education, employment, housing, health, housing, international trade and population. Data may be downloaded or analysed using onsite geographic frameworks, mapping software and data visualisation tools.

USITC DataWeb
Provides US merchandise trade and tariff data in a user friendly interface. Trade data for 1989 to the present are available on a monthly, quarterly, annual, or year-to-date basis and can be retrieved using a sophisticated querying tool with features such as user defined country and commodity groups.

World Bank Development Indicators
Data from the World Bank may be filtered to focus on the United States of America and covers topics such as agriculture, climate change, economy and growth, education, gender, health and poverty. The primary World Bank collection of development indicators, compiled from officially-recognized international sources may also be accessed and analysed.
