Service improvements in the Bodleian Library

30 April 2012

As part of ongoing plans to improve services in the Bodleian Library, various book moves will be taking place during Trinity Term. These include:

  • the planned relocation of print journals from open shelves in reading rooms to either the Gladstone Link or the Book Storage Facility in Swindon
  • weeding of the new academic intake in the Gladstone Link and relocation of lesser-used material to Swindon.
Associated barcoding work will also be taking place.

We will endeavour to keep any disruption to a minimum, especially during term time.  Details and updates will be published in due course.

Further work scheduled this summer involves changes to service points in the Old Bodleian Library, including the move of the Enquiry Desk (and Reference collections and services) from the south end of the Lower Reading Room to the north end to improve access for all readers: this work is part of the second phase of the Underground Bookstore and Old Bodleian Library Access Project, begun in 2011.

If you have any queries about this work please contact Reader Services staff via in the first instance.
