Description

Design and print workshop - with 5 days of instruction in the Bodleian's printing workshop, you will design, type-set, illustrate and print your own booklet using hand-operated presses.

Robin Wilson and Rosie Fairfax-Cholmeley are Artists-in-Residence for the University of Oxford and run art-based research at the Wytham Studio, Wytham Woods. Both are practising printmakers, and Rosie writes and illustrates books. They publish their own series of hand-made, illustrated books and collaborate with Richard Lawrence, Superintendent of the Bibliographic Press, producing illustrated, fine press books. They also teach relief printmaking and bookbinding in their own studio.


Participants must be over 18 years old. All materials are provided, no experience necessary.

Classes take place 10am-5pm on the following dates: 10, 11, 14, 15, 16 July 2017

The class will meet in the printing workshop, Schola Musicae, Old Bodleian Library. The room is accessible via a ground-floor entrance. Please report to the Bodleian Library Great Gate, accessed from Catte Street, upon arrival.

Course fee: £400

Fee covers tuition and all materials across all five dates.
