Did you know that, in addition to welcoming thousands of students and academics each year, the Bodleian Library also carries out its own scientific research? Pop in to learn about the cutting edge research taking place. Head of Heritage Science David Howell will be demonstrating the use of hyperspectral imaging for both uncovering hidden details and mapping where pigments are in some manuscript material, and Dr Kate Nicholson from Northumbria University will be demonstrating the Raman spectroscopy being used in the Libraries for identifying pigments.
