26 February 2015 — 26 April 2015
DescriptionThis display of Western printed books about dress from the Bodleian Library will range from Cesare Vecellio's 1598 chronicle of world clothing, Habiti antichi et moderni di tutto il mondo, to Quentin Bell's meditation, On Human Finery of 1947. The distinctive and vivid documentation will show how clothes were described and recorded at different times and in different places, how they were made, and how they were invested with meaning.
