Public consultation on proposed alterations and improvements to the Radcliffe Camera and Old Bodleian Library

14 June 2012

The University Estates Directorate is currently preparing a scheme to carry out the final phase of works to the Old Bodleian Library and Radcliffe Camera begun in 2010 and to incorporate changes informed by the move of the History Faculty Library planned for this summer as well as further improvements to access for people with disabilities to the Radcliffe Camera and the Gladstone Link. This will involve making very discreet alterations to the Radcliffe Camera and Old Bodleian to allow for improved service and access arrangements.

The University would like to consult with you to discuss the ideas for this work and the methods for undertaking construction if the proposals are approved.

We would therefore like to invite you to view an exhibition of draft plans on show in the Proscholium, Bodleian Library, from today until 7pm on Tuesday 19 June. This exhibition explains the proposals and ideas in detail and we would like to take into account your views and comments before the project is finalised and any applications are submitted to Oxford City Council.
