The Oxford Internet Institute has decided to use ORA (Oxford University Research Archive) after exploring a number of methods for storing and managing its research outputs. It will soon start adding research papers, images and videos to ORA where they will be safely stored, disseminated and managed.
The institute has chosen ORA owing to increased visibility and dissemination of its work, including the grey literature. They system will also make it easier for the OII to manage the outputs for a range of reporting purposes, including reports to funding agencies.
Professor Helen Margetts, Director of Research, Oxford Internet Institute said: 'ORA seems to be tailored to our requirements, without being too unwieldy for authors to manage by themselves. We are confident of more support than would be possible with any other system, and are pleased that the University is providing a long-term solution for our departmental archiving needs.'
Oxford University Research Archive contains research publications and other research output produced by members of the University of Oxford. Content includes copies of journal articles, conference papers, theses and other types of research publications.
